Are you an architect, project designer or interior designer and regard yourself as a forward thinker? Are you interested in a futuristic, most innovative and superior alternative to traditional building materials? If so, then MultiPanel is the name.
So what is MultiPanel?
MultiPanel is a revolutionary, high density, polyurethane composite building panel that has many energy efficient and eco-friendly properties. It is your eco-friendly alternative to MDF, fibre cement sheeting, plasterboard, marine plyboard, PVC panels, balsa wood core products and other composite materials. And as we need to conserve and protect our forests for future generations, MultiPanel may be used as an alternative to many timber products, which tend, not only to be most expensive, but also, a disappearing natural resource. The panels may be used in a diverse range of industries, including, marine, building and construction and landscaping.
Quite often, architects and interior designers struggle to find a material that can provide compound curves in their unique designs. MultiPanel solves that problem, as the panels can be thermoformed to shape those curves easily. Thermoformed, simply means, that the panels can be heat formed into virtually any shape. MultiPanel requires heat to reach the core before it will successfully bend. The panels will start to soften around 70-80 degrees Celsius, the optimum bending temperature will be about 95-110 degrees Celsius. The optimum bending temperature will not change with the thickness of the panel, that is, 95-110 is correct for all thicknesses.
MultiPanel is up to 70% lighter than conventional building products, thereby conserving fuel consumption in shipping freight and in road transportation. The panels will not rot as they are 100% waterproof, so one saves on costly replacement materials and labour costs. The panels provide excellent thermal insulation, which results in lower energy use in all domestic and industrial applications. MultiPanel has excellent acoustic properties, providing a noise reduction of 15-20 decibel insertion loss.
MultiPanel is an energy efficient, eco friendly product that is non toxic, non carcinogenic and is not considered harmful. It can even be granulated and recycled as insulation foam. The panels are strong and durable and are compatible with a wide variety of finishes, including, acrylic paints, laminates, timber veneers, fiberglass, stonework, tiling and various metal finishes.
The panels have fire retardant properties. The unique blend of fire retardant additives work by charring when the panel is exposed to a source of ignition and therefore, starves the fire of oxygen. The panels contain no ozone damaging agents, no greenhouse gases and no volatile organic compounds (no VOC emissions). And the panels are resistant to damage from termites, birds and other pests.
And how do we use MultiPanel?
When cutting the panels, standard wood working tools, water jet cuts and CNC machines can be used. Thus, they are easy to cut.
When joining sheets of the same thickness, they can be joined together in a number of ways using polyurethane based glues, which are supplied by MultiPanel. The options for joining sheets, include, butt joins and tongue and groove joins. These joins provide strength similar to the MultiPanel.
When fixing panels, either glue and nails or glue and screws can be used together.
The stud spacing technique can also be used, depending on the thickness of the panels.
MultiPanel's features and benefits combine to open up limitless design applications for both interior design projects and exterior projects. A consideration worth looking into for both architects and interior designers.
